Finding the Post Office File (.PST)


First try Windows search to locate all .PST files using *.PST

Else look in the 'hidden' folder C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook


Sluggish .PST Data Folder – Manually run a .PST Compaction




– Outlook 97, 98 & 2000 –
If the Folder List is not showing, click Folder List on the View menu.
on one of the Personal Folders.
Click Properties For Personal Folders.
On the General tab, click Advanced, and then click Compact Now.
Click OK twice.


– Outlook 2002 & 2003 –
On the File menu, click Data File Management. "
